We went to a restaurant not far from our house and enjoyed a fabulous meal complete with an appetizer, entrees, dessert, and of course a bottle of wine. We sat at our table for nearly three hours just talking about anything and everything. As we paid the check and headed out to the car, my husband said "Do you realize we talked non stop for almost three hours?"
After three years of marriage, and almost six years together, we still have so much to talk about. My husband never fails to open my mind to new and exciting ideas and concepts. Our conversation is always thriving and engaging.
When my husband and I first married, I worried that our hours of intense conversation would soon change into small talk and one or two word answers to not so open ended questions. I certainly worried over nothing. If anything, our conversations have evolved.
We met when we were sixteen, and therefore the conversations we had back then reflected those of a sixteen year old mindset. On our way home from dinner, my husband joked that he could not imagine having a three hour conversation with our teenage selves."What did we even have to talk about?" he asked.
Funny how people change.
As we walked in the door, we were having a heated discussion about whether or not memories can truly be repressed, my friend laughed at us and shook her head. "You are not supposed to be arguing." She said.
We just laughed and smiled. Conversations like the one we were having make us fall in love all over again.

ReplyDeleteSee, my husband and I have been together for almost 8 years, and we still have long conversations every time we have a chance. We love it! They are always so interesting! And we always end up learning something new from each other!
