A New Year

It is hard to believe that another year has come and gone. I am not one of those people who measure happiness in years, but rather I prefer to measure my happiness in moments. Even so, this past year has been a great one, especially because it marked the birth of our beautiful daughter.

I have never been one to make New Year's Resolutions. I believe that throughout the year I should strive to better myself in various aspects of my life rather than highlighting a specific area in need of improvement.

There are however a few things that I plan on accomplishing. This year for instance, I want to make a difference. Each and every one of us has the power the change the world. I WILL choose to implement this power this year and stand up for a cause that I believe in. As many of you know, I and several fellow bloggers had tried to raise awareness about the effects that bullying can have on our youth with an anti bullying campaign. I am going to continue my work against bullying in the hopes that I can save other young people from the same terrors of bullying that I and many others have experienced in the past.

With the birth of my daughter, I have become increasingly aware of how important education, attention, affection, and socialization are to a developing child. For this reason, I am going to strive to grow my daycare business and reach out to other children to provide for them physically, emotionally, ans spiritually through the curriculum provided at Making Miracles Christian Daycare. I am also going to try my hand at writing children's books like the one that I wrote for my mother to read to Juliette when she visits her Mimi and Grandad. I will strive to better myself daily and to be the best wife and mother I can be so that my daughter will grow up knowing the true meaning of family and never doubting the love that we have for her.

This year will be amazing. I know this because I believe that we are are responsible for our own happiness and I will strive to make this year a happy one for me and my family. With friends, faith, and family, happiness is never far from reach.

Wishing you all much love and happiness in the New Year.

God bless!!

  1. Hello! Been a long time since I've stopped in...so so sorry! Looks like you are doing well! Lots of wishes for happiness and success in the new year!!

I don't so much make resolutions as I do goals for the year. I set professional goals for the year and make sure I do what I need to do to meet them. I met them all last year! :) As far as personal, I make goals there too...but those are usually more of life changes. I want to eat more veggies, take my vitamins, stuff like that! :)

  8. WHAT A CUTIE! I knew you two were such wonderful people that it'd be only right to have such a beautiful baby girl.

Best of luck on the daycare! My mom did it for 20 years (Joyful Journey Daycare) it was the best time! I really wish you a ton of luck! Along with the children's book too!

I have three short stories out this year AND I start the adoption process. I guess you consider those my goals for 2012. To embrace life and all it's obstacles!
