Hello and happy Thursday. It is hard to believe that Christmas is a mere 24 days away. Although our daughter is still very young, as a mother, I feel that it is my duty to instill in her good values such as the importance of charity and kindness from a young age.
My dear friend Samantha and I have "adopted" a deserving family from Illinois this year who is in desperate need of our help this Christmas season. We came across the story of Allison, a deserving mother of seven. I have always felt that acts of charity best define the true meaning of Christmas.
Earlier this year Allison's mother suffered a stroke after routine surgery. Although doctors told Allison that it was best to take her mother off of life support, Allison could not give up hope. By the grace of God, Allison's mother pulled through but is now bedridden due to complications.
Allison is studying to be a paralegal however, as the sole caregiver for her ill mother, she is unable to work. As if Allison is not experiencing enough hardship as it is, her oldest son must undergo an intense and risky surgery later this month to correct a medical condition caused by his cerebral palsy.
If you can find it in your heart this year to help give these children the Christmas that they deserve please feel free to contact either me or Samantha to find out what you can do to contribute.
Thank you all. Much love and God bless.

I am so saddened by this story, but uplifted by the fact that there are wonderful and caring people like you in the world who are there to help. We're hoping to help adopt a family, as well, through a program our building runs annually. I just wish there was more awareness of suffering year-round, and not only during the holidays.
